Our New Jersey-based national insurance company engaged Tom to advise on, customize, and teach multiple multi-day education sessions on Software Engineering and Teaming through a Lean-Agility lens.

Tom's engaging, deeply knowledgeable, and humorous approach to Agile, code creation, and quality fostered a flow of information and learning that teams easily incorporated into their workflows and behaviors.

A key theme of his approach was strengthening collaboration between Product and Development. He delivered this through a combination of knowledge-sharing sessions and context-specific facilitated workshops, demonstrating techniques from the class in real time. These sessions included Example Mapping with our POs and teams, as well as live, interactive mob programming and TDD exercises.

The engagement was a great success, and we invited Tom back to teach additional sessions for other teams across our organization.

I collaborated with Tom at a fintech company over the course of two years. During this time, the company engaged him for several Agile training courses and eventually brought him on as a full-time Agile Coach.

I was the Director of Agile Program Management so I worked very closely with Tom on a daily basis. Tom played an instrumental role in our success in improving our way of work working across 18 teams and 2 divisions. Tom lead Value Stream workshop sessions to help us organize for success. He lead numerous training sessions to prepare Leadership, Product, technical management, and team members to prepare for the new of working. He worked with us closely on organizing the big room planning sessions (PI Planning) and helped facilitate them in the background. We had tremendous success in shifting the culture toward a more flow based, Agile way of working.

What I admired most about Tom was his ability to think big picture and out of the box. He was strategic and could brainstorm ideas with the best of them. His many years of experience as a developer, in IT, and as an Agile expert was invaluable to the organization.
